Indian weddings – now a “fake” celebration

[[{“value”:”

A new trend mimicking traditional wedding ceremonies – “fake weddings” – is gaining popularity in India. These events do not feature a real bride and groom, but recreate a wedding-like atmosphere with traditional clothing, dancing, Indian music, and festive food.

Such events are being held in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and are especially popular among young people. Ticket prices range from 1,500 to 15,000 rupees(approximately from 210,000 to 2.1 million uzbek soums) depending on the venue. Organizers aim to offer the emotions of a wedding celebration without any formalities, rituals, or obligations.

The events are organized by hotels, clubs, and agencies. Some attendees see it as a chance to re-wear expensive traditional outfits, while others appreciate the lack of family pressure.

Experts believe this trend might be temporary, but it also has the potential to become a new market segment in India’s $130 billion wedding industry.
